Practical solution: Retrofit installation of a hydraulic lead press

The increased use of high-strength steels create new challenges for the manufacturing process. From today's point of view, older press lines with their insufficiently dimensioned lead presses, are no longer up to current requirements. One cost-effective and flexible solution to the problem is the overhaul/rebuilding of the downstream press in a mechanical press line together with the addition of a new lead press. The press of choice is often a hydraulic triple-acting press with a higher tonnage rating. Such a so-called hybrid line has many advantages:

• Single-action as well as existing double-action dies can be run
• Regarding impact shock the downstream mechanical presses are much less sensitive than hydraulic presses
• Lower energy consumption as compared to a completely hydraulic line
