PARSAN and OMTAŞ start production on forging press

Turkish forged and machined parts manufacturer puts fully automated line with 5,000 ton machine from Farina and Schuler into operation.

A forging line for automotive parts is being followed by a 5,000-ton press: Turkish manufacturer PARSAN has now ramped up production on forging line with a press from Farina and Schuler that was ordered almost two years ago. It features the KERS kinetic energy recovery system, which offers savings of up to 40 percent as well as low wear and less downtime due to maintenance work. The focus of the whole line is high speed, flexibility, efficiency, sustainability as well as forging operations with vertical and horizontal directions or hot and warm forging technologies.

PARSAN and OMTAŞ were founded in 1968 as integrated steel forging processing and mechanical machining plants near the city of Istanbul. Around 70 percent of the products, which weigh between one and 400 kilograms, are supplied to the international automotive, agriculture, energy, mining, railways, aerospace, and machinery industries. These include rear axle shafts, front and rear axle suspensions and units, front axle beams, steering knuckles and arms, forged drive wheels, differential gears, internal combustion engine forgings and various e-mobility parts made of ferrous and non-ferrous metallic alloys such as aluminum and superalloys.

PARSAN and OMTAŞ are belonging to the GÜRİŞ Holding Industry Group together with Asil Celik Steel Mill, Döktas Iron Casting, Döktas Aluminium Casting and Aluminum Wheel manufacturing companies. GÜRİŞ Industry Group continues to invest in increasing the production capacity with state-of-the-art technologies.
