Frame Parts

    Description

Hydroforming technology has found widespread application in vehicle frame and subframe components.

Hydroformed assembly design results in about 50% reduction in number of parts as compared to a stamped design. For example, front axle subassemblies that are manufactured by conventional methods consist of six to eight sheet metal parts welded together. With hydroforming, the number of single parts can be drastically reduced to only about two or three parts. This lowers die costs as well as production costs since numerous positioning and welding operations are no longer necessary.
