Minting presses.
Installed around the world.

Schuler has been setting the standards for coin minting technology since the beginning. In the early 1900's, Schuler knuckle-joint presses were producing coins at rates up to 60 coins per minute - an amazing achievement for the time. History of minting performance by Schuler:
  • Schuler delivered its first minting presses to China in1905.
  • By the mid 1930's, Schuler had delivered more than 1,000 coin minting presses to roughly 50 countries. Even more impressive, a number of these presses are still in operation today!
  • In the 1960's, a new era of coin minting technology began with the development of minting presses in horizontal design. Schuler has improved the performance of these presses over time, to current rates of up to 850 coins per minute.
  • Parallel developments included the introduction of a series of presses in vertical design for the production of circulating coins including round, multi-sided, or bi-metal coins.
  • More recent developments and innovations include multi-strike, high-performance proof coin minting presses.
  • The introduction of the Euro included the development of coin edge inscription of bi-metal coins.

Our goal is to provide cost effective lines and work with customers to continuously improve our product to stay on the front edge of minting technology.  Schuler holds patents for its link drive system, automated blank monitoring and bad blank ejection system.
