Part spectrum/families in the stamping plant

The part spectrum to be manufactured plays an important role in the planning of a new stamping plant, since, among other things, the part spectrum largely determines the required press capacities.  The range from small parts to large body panel or doubles is extremely large.  A very close analysis of the part spectrum/part family is a basic requirement for successful stamping plant planning.

Part spectrum

Classification Capacity Typical part family
Small 3,150 -
12,500 kN
Reinforcements, supports, hinges,
recessed grips
Medium 16,000 - 25,000 kN Door sills, hinge reinforcements,
B-pillars, side members, roof frames, recesses for tanks
Large 30,000 - 45,000 kN Fenders, hoods, deck lids, door inners, outer door skin
