Light-weight in volume production:
Systems for hot forming.
Greater strength and reduced weight: In automobile construction, with its emphasis on light weight, there are obvious advantages seen in hot forming. In this technology, components are tempered/hardened by means of heating, forming, and controlled cooling. Steels with initial tensile strength of 500 to 700 N/mm2 (71,000 to 99,400 psi) achieve tensile strengths of 1,300 to 1,600 N/mm2 (184,600 to 227,200 psi) in the process. Schuler hot forming lines are producing safety-relevant parts for leading automakers worldwide. This equipment is providing Schuler customers with a competitive edge in the international markets.
