APS - Automated Production System
Description
The Automated Production System or APS opens up new possibilities and provides increased efficiency in manufacturing. The unmanned shift becomes a reality by means of user-friendly, fully automated and reliable logistics in the handling of both unmachined and finished parts on Euro pallets and pallets for machining centers. The Schuler APS integrates different pallet sizes and types into a cost-effective total system. The arrangement of storage units, set-up facilities and machines is variable and offers a wide range of applications under real-life plant conditions. These systems are always oriented to the specific, on-site manufacturing requirements – whether for a single machining center with just a few storage facilities or for multiple machines with a large number of shelf-type storage facilities for and material pallets and pallets for maching centers.
Advantages
Large storage for raw material and finished part pallets as well as BAZ pallets
Unmanned production and manufacturing around the clock
Suitable for both new machines and for retrofit on existing machines
Raises productivity level for single machines or highly flexible FMS lines
Modular and easily expandable design/construction
Uniform concept and layout for all models
Various pallets sizes and types can be handled within one system
Simple interface points with the processing machines
Later lengthening of system and integration of additional machines possible
